A Passion for Racing Excellence

Deborah has lived horses since her first pony and riding at 8 years young. Her early career got her into a range of equine disciplines and then racing. She has a 30 year racing career, beginning with riding out for a renowned point to point trainer, and then training pointers for private owners from her own yard with a lot of success. Deborah took a career break, becoming a professional chef, managing a highly successful bed and breakfast, and a country house hotel. Her return to racing as the Trainer at Knowle Racing 5 years ago has led to a run of successes and wins, building the stables into a well known, boutique, and high quality training yard with first class facilities.

Trainer’s Story

Debbie Cole’s journey began at the tender age of eight, riding ponies in Buckinghamshire. With over 30 years of experience in the racing world, Debbie has developed an extraordinary ability to nurture talent, having trained successful horses at Cheltenham and beyond. Her career spans point-to-point training, professional chef roles, and managing a hotel—until her true calling in racing took precedence.

A Head Traveller’s Perspective

Harriet, the Head Traveller at Knowle Racing Stables, has been involved in racing for over four years. Her role includes transporting horses to races, organising tack, ensuring cleanliness, and preparing the horses for competition. She describes her work as providing “five-star treatment” for the horses, akin to a luxury spa experience, ensuring they are well-cared for and comfortable.
